After first having completed an apprenticeship as certified car mechanic, Heiko Severit decided to make his equestrian hobby his profession in 1995, and subsequently started an apprenticeship in equine management with an emphasis on breeding and boarding.

In earlier years, he was a successful eventing rider and achieved, e.g., the team gold medal and individual silver medal at the state championships, being trained by Werner Schmidt and Manfred Koetter. He kept showing in various disciplines and competed, mostly on home-bred horses, in jumping classes up to level M (1.30m) and dressage tests up to Prix St. Georges.

In 2004, Heiko Severit qualified for artificial insemination of his own mares and obtained his master in equine management (breeding and boarding) in 2008. In the following year, he completed his master in equine management (riding instruction) and qualified as kinetics instructor (according to Eckart Meyers).

Since then, Heiko Severit trains horses and riders in all disciplines up to level M (e.g. several participants of the Bundeschampionships) and has been a team trainer at county level. He offers clinics at his own facility or at his student’s facilities. He makes sure to always keep his own training up-to-date in order to always be able to offer top notch training.
